Good Bad Ugly (2025) Movie Review
"Good Bad Ugly," directed by Adhik Ravichandran, is a Tamil action-comedy that’s a love letter to Ajith Kumar fans but struggles to appeal beyond them. Released on April 10, 2025, it follows AK, a retired gangster (Ajith), who returns to his violent past when his son is wrongly arrested. The film is packed with high-octane action, nostalgic callbacks to Ajith’s earlier hits, and a vibrant soundtrack by G.V. Prakash Kumar. Ajith shines with his signature swagger, dominating every frame, while Trisha Krishnan and Arjun Das deliver solid, if underutilized, performances.
However, the story feels predictable, leaning heavily on fan service over substance. The script lacks depth, and the overdose of slow-motion sequences and hero elevation moments can feel repetitive. While the cinematography by Abinandhan Ramanujam captures the chaos beautifully, the narrative falters in the second half, missing emotional weight. For Ajith devotees, it’s a festive treat, grossing Rs 28 crore on day one, but casual viewers might find it chaotic and shallow. At 140 minutes, it’s a stylish ride that entertains sporadically but doesn’t linger.
